Amazon expands Reacher cast
Staff Writer
Amazon is filling out the cast for its adaptation of Reacher, with a number of key regular and recurring roles filled.
The drama is based on the character from Lee Child’s international bestselling series of books, who was famously portrayed by Tom Cruise in two movie outings. Blue Mountain State, Titans and The Hunger Games: Catching Fire star Alan Ritchson will take on the title role foe the series.
Now, he’s got some company.
Maria Sten will portray the Reacher’s best friend Frances Neagley, who worked under him as an Army MP and is now a private investigator. Malcolm Goodwin will play Chief Detective Oscar Finlay, a Harvard-educated Northerner who recently moved to the small town of Margrave. Hugh Thompson will play Baker, Margrave’s head cop, who dislikes Finlay. Willa Fitzgerald will play Roscoe Conklin, a proud police officer born and raised in the town. Bruce McGill will play Mayor Teale, the mayor of Margrave. And Chris Webster will play KJ, the spoiled son of local businessman – with Currie Graham (Murder in the First) playing his father, Kliner Sr.
Willie C Carpenter (Devious Maids, Brawl in Cell Block 99) will play town barber Mosley, who helps Reacher keep up with the goings-on of the town. Marc Bendavid (Dark Matter, Good Witch) will play Hubble, a frazzled accountant living beyond his means. Kristin Kreuk (Smallville, Beauty & the Beast) will play Hubble’s wife, Charlie, a former debutante. Harvey Guillén (What We Do in the Shadows) will play Jasper, Margrave’s medical examiner who suddenly has to deal with a slew of murders. And Maxwell Jenkins (Lost in Space) will play Young Reacher.
The series is written by Nick Santora (Scorpion, Prison Break), who will also executive produce and serve as showrunner. The first season will be based on the first Jack Reacher novel, The Killing Floor.
