Amazon’s The Wheel of Time set for November release
Staff Writer
The Wheel of Time will officially premiere on Amazon Prime Video this November, the online giant has announced.
Based on one of the most popular and enduring fantasy series of all-time, the series is set in a sprawling, epic world where magic exists and only certain women are allowed to access it, the story follows Moiraine, a member of the incredibly powerful all-female organisation called the Aes Sedai, as she arrives in the small town of Two Rivers. There, she embarks on a dangerous, world-spanning journey with five young men and women, one of whom is prophesied to be the Dragon Reborn, who will either save or destroy humanity.
Rosamund Pike stars as Moiraine, leading a cast that includes hie Okonedo as Amyrlin Seat Siuan Sanche, Daniel Henney Madeleine Madden as Egwene Al’Vere, Marcus Rutherford as Perrin Aybara, Barney Harris as Mat Cauthon, Zoë Robins as Nynaeve, Josha Stradowski as Rand Al’Thor, Priyanka Bose as Alanna Mosvani, Taylor Napier as Maksim and Emmanuel Imani as Ihbon.
Moiraine is once again front and centre of a new poster unveiled by Amazon at its Comic-Con 2021 panel this weekend, which featured showrunner Rafe Judkins along with a number of talents from other Amazon Studios titles. You can watch the full panel below, along with the first poster for the series – and that poster confirms the November release. Watch this space for a specific date.
