First look: Tiffany Haddish and Ali Wong in Netflix’s Tuca & Bertie

They’re relatable, fly AF, and, oh, they just happen to be bird women. From creator Lisa Hanawalt and the creative minds behind BoJack Horseman comes Tuca & Bertie, Netflix’s new animated series.
The comedy, which was commissioned last year by the streaming giant, stars Tiffany Haddish and Ali Wong and follows two 30-year-old friends who live in the same apartment building: Tuca, a cocky, care-free toucan, and Bertie, an anxious, daydreaming songbird. Now, you can get your first look at the duo in action with this new teaser giving us a bonus glimpse of the pair behind-the-scenes.
Tuca & Bertie comes to Netflix on Friday 3rd May. Here’s the video:
Tiffany Haddish to star in Netflix animation from BoJack creators

Tiffany Haddish is all set to star in Tuca & Bertie, a new animated comedy for Netflix.
From he creators of BoJack Horseman, the series has been commissioned by the streaming giant, with Michael Eisner’s The Tornante Company producing. The series follows the friendship between two 30-year-old bird women who live in the same apartment building: Tuca, a cocky, care-free toucan, and Bertie, an anxious, daydreaming songbird
Haddish, who delivered a breakout performance in the smash comedy Girls Trip, will play Tuca, marking the latest in a string of high-profile gigs, from a role opposite Tracy Morgan in The Last O.G., a first-look deal with HBO and her newest stand-up special Tiffany Haddish: She Ready!, which aired on Showtime late last year, to upcoming projects The Oath, The Kitchen and The Temp She also released her first book, The Last Black Unicorn, in December, which made the NY Times Bestseller List.
Lisa Hanawalt (BoJack Horseman) created the series and will be an executive producer alongside Raphael Bob-Waksberg (BoJack Horseman), Noel Bright (BoJack Horseman, Friends), Steven A. Cohen (BoJack Horseman, Jack & Bobby) and Haddish. The animation is being done at Shadowmachine.
Netflix has ordered 10 episodes for its first season.
