Mikki Daughtry and Tobias Iaconis are adapting Nightbooks for Netflix.
The children’s book, written by J.A. White, follows Alex, a boy obsessed with scary stories, who is trapped in a witch‘s modern, magical New York City apartment. His original hair-raising tales are the only thing keeping him safe as he desperately tries to find a way out of this twisted place.
Ghost House Pictures’ Sam Raimi and Rob Tapert together with MXN Entertainment’s Mason Novick and Michelle Knudsen are producing, while Romel Adam will be overseeing for Ghost House
Daughtry and Iaconis, whose CVs include Five Feet Apart and The Curse of La Llorona, are on scripting duties.
The project joins Netflix‘s growing slate of live action families movies featuring kids and teens. Other movies on the way include Tall Girl, A Babysitter’s Guide to Monster Hunting, and Hello, Universe.
