If you’re counting down the days until you can get your next Noah Centineo fix, Netflix has good news for you: you only have to wait a few more weeks to go on The Perfect Date with the Netflix star.
Starring in both To All The Boys I’ve Loved Before and Sierra Burgess is a Loser, Centineo has become the streaming giant’s first flagship heartthrob, with his Instagram following shooting up from 0.8 million before To All the Boys I’ve Loved Before to over 13 million. Now, he and Riverdale’s Camila Mendes are teaming up for The Perfect Date, which is the kind of crossover event guaranteed to get teen viewers hitting the play button.
Centineo plays Brooks Rattigan, who, to raise funds for college, creates a dating app where he’ll “stand in” for non-existent boyfriends. But playing a different character every night of the week leads him to question who he really is, and who he wants to be with.
Mendes and Centineo are joined by Laura Marano (Lady Bird, Austin & Ally), Odiseas Georgiadis (Trinkets) and two-time Emmy nominee Matt Walsh (Veep). The film is directed by Chris Nelson (My Dead Ex) and written by Steve Bloom and Randall Green, with Awesomeness Films producing.
The film arrives on Netflix on Friday 12th April. Netflix announced the date in meme-worthy style, with a cheeky nod to Miss Congenialty.
