Oscar Isaac in talks for Marvel’s Moon Knight

Staff Writer

Oscar Isaac is reportedly in talks to star in Marvel’s Disney+ series Moon Knight.

The show, which was first announced last summer, follows former boxer and US marine Marc Spector, who finds himself offered up to an ancient god of the moon after a mission in Egypt went wrong and left him for dead. Given a second life, he struggles with multiple personalities and amoral inclinations to fight on against all odds as the cloaked avenger Moon Knight.

Jeremy Slater has been on board the project since it was announced as head writer. Slater, who also penned 2015’s Fantastic Four, is no stranger to the small screen, adapting The Exorcist for two seasons and the manga Death Note for Netflix.

Now, Marvel looks to have found its star, with Variety reporting that Isaac in talks for the show. It would mark a reunion between Marvel and the Star Wars and Inside Llewyn Davis star, having playing Apocalypse in the X-Men sequel of the same name.

If everything is signed and sealed as expected, Isaac’s Moon Knight joins a run of Disney+ Marvel series getting their ducks in order, with Tatiana Maslany reportedly set to star in She-Hulk and newcomer Iman Vellani set to star in Ms Marvel. WandaVision will be the first of the MCU’s small screen outings to land on our screens later this year, followed by Loki and Falcon and the Winter Soldier at some point in 2021. A solo series for Jeremy Renner’s Hawkeye is also in the works.
