Peaky Blinders returns for Season 6 this February
Staff Writer
Peaky Blinders will officially return one last time this February, the BBC has confirmed.
The hit crime family saga, written and created by Steven Knight, has become a cult phenomenon since launching in 2013. It stars Cillian Murphy as Thomas Shelby, a crime boss in Birmingham during the 1920s. Season 5 saw Tommy elected as MP for Birmingham South with the Wall Street Crash on the horizon. Now, the show is back for a final chapter.
Season 6, written by creator Steven Knight and directed by Anthony Byrne, will continue the saga of the Shelby crime family, as the story moves towards the start of the World War Two. We don’t more specifics than that just yet, but Knight has previously spoken of planning to end the story with the first air raid siren in Birmingham in 1939 – and has also confirmed plans for a stage show and also a film.
What we do know for sure is that Season 6 will premiere on 27th February on BBC One, with episodes airing weekly. Here’s a trailer – and, below, a mural announcing the air date.
