Scoot McNairy joins Mila Kunis in Netflix’s Luckiest Girl Alive
Scoot McNairy will star alongside Mila Kunis in Netflix’s Luckiest Girl Alive.
The film is based on Jessica Knoll’s bestselling book, first published in 2015, which follows Ani FaNelli, a sharp-tongued New Yorker who appears to have it all: a sought-after position at a glossy magazine, a killer wardrobe, and a dream Nantucket wedding on the horizon. But when the director of a crime documentary invites her to tell her side of the shocking incident that took place when she was a teenager at the prestigious Bradley School, Ani is forced to confront a dark truth that threatens to unravel her meticulously crafted life.
Kunis (Bad Moms, Forgetting Sarah Marshall, Black Swan) will lead the cast, and also produce through Orchard Farm Productions. Now, she’s got company, with McNairy (Argo, Narcos: Mexico, Halt and Catch Fire) leading a wave of new additions to the cast. Other additions include Finn Wittrock (The Big Short, American Horror Story), Chiara Aurelia (Cruel Summer, Tell Me Your Secrets), Thomas Barbusca (Black Monday, The Mick), Justine Lupe (Succession, The Marvelous Mrs. Maisel), Dalmar Abuzeid (Anne with an E, The Comey Rule), Alex Barone (Dopesick), Carson MacCormac (Shazam!, Riot Girls), Jennifer Beals (The Book of Eli, The Last Tycoon) and Connie Britton (Friday Night Lights, Nashville).
Knoll is adapting the screenplay herself, with Mike Barker (Black Match, The Handmaid’s Tale, Fargo) at the helm. Knoll is also exec-producing, alongside Lisa Sterbakov for Orchard Farm Productions, Shayne Fiske Goldner for PICTURESTART, and Steve Hutensky for Made Up Stories.
