Watch: Full trailer for Netflix’s Emily in Paris

“I’m the girl who shows up, not the girl who makes bad decisions.” That’s the sound of Emily in Paris, Netflix’s new romantic comedy series.

Written and exec-produced by Sex and the City creator Darren Star, the series follows Emily, an ambitious twenty-something marketing executive from Chicago who unexpectedly lands her dream job in Paris when her company acquires a French luxury marketing company — and she is tasked with revamping their social media strategy.

The new trailer gives us a full glimpse of what that entails, from navigating professional challenges and sexist attitudes to making friends and working out new romances.

The show, which jumped from Paramount to Netflix earlier this year, stars Lily Collins, who also produces. See her in action on Friday 2nd October, when the whole show arrives on Netflix. Here’s the trailer:

“I feel like Nicole Kidman in Moulin Rouge!” That’s the sound of Lily Collins heading to Netflix in new series Emily in Paris.

Written and exec-produced by Sex and the City creator Darren Star, the series follows Emily, an ambitious twenty-something marketing executive from Chicago who unexpectedly lands her dream job in Paris when her company acquires a French luxury marketing company — and she is tasked with revamping their social media strategy. Emily’s new life in Paris is filled with intoxicating adventures and surprising challenges as she juggles winning over her work colleagues, making friends, and navigating new romances.

Collins, who also produces, plays Emily, and is joined on camera by co-stars Ashley Park (Mean Girls on Broadway, Tales of the City), Philippine Leroy Beaulieu (Call My Agent!), Lucas Bravo (Smart Ass), Samuel Arnold (Antony & Cleopatra), Camille Razat (The 15:17 to Paris) and Bruno Gouery (Doc Martin).

The show was originally set to air on Paramount Network but moved to Netflix earlier this year. Now, we know when it will arrive: the series will premiere on 2nd October.

Netflix has picked up Emily in Paris starring Lily Collins.

The romantic comedy series was set to air on Paramount Network, but has now moved to Netflix instead. Created, written and exec-produced by Sex and the City creator Darren Star, the series follows Emily, an ambitious twenty-something marketing executive from Chicago who unexpectedly lands her dream job in Paris when her company acquires a French luxury marketing company — and she is tasked with revamping their social media strategy. Emily’s new life in Paris is filled with intoxicating adventures and surprising challenges as she juggles winning over her work colleagues, making friends, and navigating new romances.

The 10-part show is produced by Collins, who plays Emily, and co-stars Ashley Park (Mean Girls on Broadway, Tales of the City), Philippine Leroy Beaulieu (Call My Agent!), Lucas Bravo (Smart Ass), Samuel Arnold (Antony & Cleopatra), Camille Razat (The 15:17 to Paris) and Bruno Gouery (Doc Martin). Recurring cast members include Kate Walsh (The Umbrella Academy), William Abadie (Resident Evil: Extinction) and Arnaud Viard (Clara et Moi).

Produced by MTV Studios, the series was filmed entirely on location in Paris and throughout France, with costumes designed by Patricia Field (The Devil Wears Prada, Sex and the City).

The series will premiere on Netflix later this year.
