HBO’s teen drama is created and written by Sam Levinson, who also serves as executive producer, and bagged three Primetime Emmy awards this year, including Outstanding Lead Actress In A Drama Series (Zendaya), Outstanding Contemporary Makeup (Non-Prosthetic) and Outstanding Original Music and Lyrics.

In the aftermath of being left by Jules at the train station and relapsing, the first special episode follows Rue (Zendaya) as she celebrates Christmas. Written and directed by Levinson, the episode, titled Trouble Don’t Last Always, also stars Colman Domingo, who appeared in Season 1. The title and date of the second episode are forthcoming. Both special episodes were produced under COVID-19 guidelines.

The episode will air on Sky Atlantic on 7th December, and will also be available on NOW TV, where Season 1 is (at the time of writing) available to stream.

Euphoria returns for two special episodes

HBO’s Euphoria will return for two special episodes, to make up for the delay in the second season.

“HBO’s remarkably engaging teen drama is an intense, shocking, uplifting and spellbinding experience,” we wrote in our review of Season 1, which first aired on Sky Atlantic and NOW TV in the UK last year.

Created and written by Sam Levinson, who also serves as executive producer, the series is based on the Israeli series of the same name, which was created by Ron Leshem and Daphna Levin. It won three Primetime Emmy Awards this year, including Outstanding Lead Actress In A Drama Series (Zendaya), Outstanding Contemporary Makeup (Non-Prosthetic) and Outstanding Original Music and Lyrics.

Now, HBO has confirmed that fans won’t have to way for too much longer to get their next Euphoria hit. Even as the coronavirus pandemic has disrupted production on the sophomore season, HBO and Sky will drop two new episodes to help bridge the gap.

In the aftermath of being left by Jules at the train station and relapsing, the first special episode follows Rue (Zendaya) as she celebrates Christmas. Written and directed by series creator Sam Levinson, the episode, titled Trouble Don’t Last Always, also stars Colman Domingo, who appeared in Season 1. The title and date of the second episode are forthcoming. Both special episodes were produced under coronavirus safety guidelines.

The first episode will debut on Sky this December, with a US broadcast set for 7th December, which means you can expect the episode to drop at the earliest on 8th December.
