Watch: Trailer for Hulu’s Four Weddings and a Funeral series

Staff Reporter

Reading time: 1 mins

Four Weddings and a Funeral will return to our screens soon, but not as you know it: Hulu’s adapting the Richard Curtis into a rom-com series.

Created by Mindy Kaling and Matt Warburton, the show stars Nathalie Emmanuel, Nikesh Patel, Rebecca Rittenhouse, and John Paul Reynolds and follows four American friends who reunite for a wedding in London.

Maya (Nathalie Emmanuel), the young communications director for a New York senatorial campaign, receives a wedding invitation from her college schoolmate, Ainsley’s (Rebecca Rittenhouse), now living in the UK capital. Coming off a devastating heartbreak, she leaves her professional and personal life behind, in favour of traveling to England. While in town, Maya reconnects with her old college friends, Craig (Brandon Mychal Smith) and Duffy (John Reynolds), and finds herself thrust into their personal crises.

Relationships are forged and broken, political scandals exposed, London social life lampooned, love affairs ignited and doused, and of course there are four weddings… and a funeral.

The series is exec-produced by Kaling, Warburton and Curtis, alongside Tracey Wigfield, Jonathan Prince, Howard Klein, Charlie Grandy, Tristram Shapeero and Charles McDougall. The pilot script was written by Kaling and Warburton, with filming taking place last November in London. The series will premiere on Hulu on 31st July in the USA. There’s no UK broadcaster yet confirmed, or a release date on British shores, but while waiting for that, here’s the trailer:
