Sneaky Pete returns to Amazon Prime Video for Season 3 this May, and a new trailer gives us our first look at the show’s return.

Amazon’s drama, a co-production with Sony Pictures Television Studios, is co-created by Bryan Cranston (Breaking Bad) and David Shore (The Good Doctor), and stars Giovanni Ribisi as Marius, a con man who left prison only to find himself hunted by the vicious gangster he once robbed. With nowhere else to turn, he took cover from his past by assuming the identity of his cellmate Pete and “reuniting” with Pete’s estranged family.

Who is Marius Josipovic? As Season 3 begins, Marius himself would like to know. He’s feeling a pull toward the Bernhardt family. But he’s not part of the family. He’s a con-man. The chance to become more like a normal human being is enticing. It also scares him to death. This season all the members of the Sneaky Pete family explore their identity. It’s a dangerous journey. They could lose themselves or their lives.

“Sneaky Pete looks to have truly found its feet,” we wrote in our review of Season 2.

Season 3 premieres on 10th May 2019. Here’s a teaser that gives us a glimpse of the new season, as well as recapping the first two:

Patrick J. Adams joins Sneaky Pete Season 3

5th February 2019

Patrick J. Adams has joined the cast of Sneaky Pete Season 3.

The first season became the second most-watched Amazon original scripted series on its opening day, with a 100% Rotten Tomatoes score. Within days, Amazon had ordered a second season of the drama, which premiered last year, and swiftly renewed it for a third run following its second.

“Sneaky Pete looks to have truly found its feet,” we wrote in our review of Season 2.

Now, Deadline reports that Adams will have a recurring role in Season 3 as Stefano Kilbane, an “arrogant business magnate who is obsessed with fine art and has a deep need for revenge”. The role marks the actor’s first series gig since leaving Suits.

Efrat Dor signs up for Sneaky Pete Season 3

18th September 2018

Efrat Dor has joined the cast of Amazon’s Sneaky Pete.

The drama, a co-production with Sony Pictures Television Studios, is co-created by Bryan Cranston (Breaking Bad) and David Shore (The Good Doctor), and stars Giovanni Ribisi as Marius, a con man who left prison only to find himself hunted by the vicious gangster he once robbed. With nowhere else to turn, he took cover from his past by assuming the identity of his cellmate Pete and “reuniting” with Pete’s estranged family.

The first season became the second most-watched Amazon original scripted series on its opening day, with a 100% Rotten Tomatoes score. Within days, Amazon had ordered a second season of the drama, which premiered earlier this year.

“Sneaky Pete looks to have truly found its feet,” we wrote in our review of Season 2.

Amazon renewed the show for a third season this summer and is wasting no time in finding new faces to join the eccentric ensemble. Dor will have a recurring role as Lizzie, described as “an amoral con woman with boundless skill and no moral conscience”. She’s not mean spirited, just more of a nihilist.

Dor will recognised by fans of The Zookeeper’s Wife, in which starred alongside Jessica Chastain and Daniel Bruhl, and will next be seen in Holy Lands opposite Tom Hollander, James Caan and Jonathan Rhys Meyers. She has also appeared in Netflix’s Greenhouse Academy.

Sneaky Pete renewed for Season 3

30th July 2018

Amazon has renewed Sneaky Pete for Season 3.

That saw Marius on the verge of starting fresh, when two thugs, believing he is Pete, threatened to kill the family unless he took them to Pete’s estranged mother, Maggie (Jane Adams, Twin Peaks), and the millions she stole from their mysterious employer.

“Sneaky Pete looks to have truly found its feet,” we wrote in our review of Season 2.

This weekend, Amazon’s head Jennifer Salke confirmed that a third season is on the way. The announcement is some way after Season 2 landed on Amazon Prime Video, but comes after a period of transition at Amazon Studios, with Salke coming on board to head up the online giant’s creative arm. The series will have a similar switch-up behind the scenes, with Blake Masters taking over from Graham Yost as its third showrunner.

Salke broke the news at the TCA summer press tour at the weekend, once again noting that Sneaky has been one of Amazon’s better-performing original series. Ribisi, Marin Ireland, Margo Martindale, Peter Gerety, Libe Barer and Shane McRae will all return for Season 3, with production set to begin in the coming week in Los Angeles.
