What’s coming soon to Disney+ in February 2021?

Disney’s Netflix rival is here, serving up Marvel, Star Wars and Pixar originals, along with a post-modern revamp of High School Musical and almost every episode of The Simpsons.

Due to the coronavirus pandemic and Disney’s newcomer status in the streaming game, a lot of that new content has been delayed, but the start of 2021 has seen Disney kick things up a gear, with weekly episodes of WandaVision continuing through February.

But, even more dramatic than that, is the launch of Star, a new Disney+ brand that gives a streaming home to more adult-friendly fare that Disney acquired through its merger with 20th Century Fox – with 285 films and 75 TV shows all arriving at once. That will come at a cost: the monthly price will jump from £5.99 to £7.99.

Oh, and did we mention all five seasons of the original The Muppet Show?

Marvel’s Behind The Mask – 12th February

Marvel’s Behind the Mask is a documentary special that explores the power of identity behind the iconic superheroes we know and love today. Inside Pixar: Season 2 – 12th February

The documentary series returns with more personal and cinematic stories that provide an inside look into the people, artistry, and culture of Pixar Animation Studios

Flora & Ulysses – 19th February

Flora & Ulysses is a delightful comedy-adventure based on the Newberry Award-winning book about 10-year-old Flora, an avid comic book fan and a self-avowed cynic, whose parents have recently separated. After rescuing a squirrel, she names Ulysses, Flora is amazed to discover he possesses unique super powers that takes them on an adventure of humorous complications that ultimately change Flora’s life – and her outlook – forever.

The Muppet Show – 19th February

Star – 23rd February

Disney+ launches its new adults-only section, providing a home to 20th Century Fox titles – both films and TV shows. That means 285 movies all arriving on the same day, from Die Hard 2 and Starship Troopers to The Fly and Deadpool 2, plus 75 old TV series, including Lost and 24, plus 4 new original shows.

Big Sky: Season 1 – 23rd February

From David E Kelley (Big Little Lies) comes Big Sky, an intense thriller that follows private detectives Cassie Dewell and Cody Hoyt as they join forces with his estranged wife and ex-cop, Jenny Hoyt, to search for two sisters who have been kidnapped by a truck driver on a remote highway in Montana. But when they discover that these are not the only girls who have disappeared in the area, they must race against the clock to find the women before it’s too late. One of the new Star original series.

Love, Victor: Season 1 – 23rd February

From the creators of Love, Simon and inspired by the hit film, the series follows Victor, a new student at Creekwood High School on his own journey of self-discovery, facing challenges at home, adjusting to a new city, and struggling with his sexual orientation. When it all seems too much, he reaches out to Simon to help him navigate the ups and downs of high school. Another new Star original series.
