mxolisi dolla sapeta was born in 1967, 26 january in new brighton, port elizabeth and began showing his work in public in 1989. taught art for six years between 2001 and 2007 in the division of art and design in port elizabeth college. subsequent to publishing his first collection of poems in 2019 he continues to pursue his art as a fulltime painter and writer and is constantly collaborating with other artists. while initiating platforms that attempt to promote art education in the townships where he continues to live and give art classes to immediate communities. he has participated in numerous group exhibitions in south africa and internationally including eight solo exhibitions around south africa.
